Get paid by Interac e-Transfer

What this is

The short version

e-map.ca shares the software map.ca uses to accept Interac e-Transfer payments. There is no card processor or payment company between you and your customer. Money moves from their bank account to yours on the Interac rail, and the software provides a verified receipt.

map.ca is a Canadian membership site based in Owen Sound, Ontario. Since August 2026, it has accepted $21 memberships through hands-free Interac e-Transfer. A member sends the transfer, and Autodeposit places the money into the bank. Software then reads the notification email from Interac to confirm payment and send a receipt. No person opens the inbox, and no card fees are paid.

We use e-map.ca to document this setup for any Canadian business. We will publish the software itself under an Apache-2.0 open licence. We are currently packaging the code. You can read how it works and what we learned from running it on real payments today.

e-map.ca holds evidence, never money. Confirmation comes from the verified Interac notification email; the bank balance is the final truth.
