How the receiving loop works

Confirmation comes from the verified Interac notification email. The bank balance is the final truth.

Five steps, no processor

  1. A customer sends an e-Transfer from their banking app to your receiving address.
  2. Autodeposit moves the money directly into your bank account. There is no security question, and the sender cannot reverse the deposit once it arrives.
  3. Interac sends a notification email to your receiving address that lists the sender and the amount.
  4. The software verifies that the email originated from Interac. Interac signs its mail (DKIM, from payments.interac.ca) and uses a strict policy (DMARC p=reject) to make forged notices difficult to pass.
  5. Your screen displays the confirmed payment and sends a receipt. This confirmation relies on the verified email. Because your bank balance is the final truth, reconcile these amounts against your account as you would with cash.

Your money never touches us or any other company. The software runs on your own computer and reads your own mailbox.

e-map.ca holds evidence, never money. Confirmation comes from the verified Interac notification email; the bank balance is the final truth.
